The Tascam 238 rack mounted unit was one of the last to be made in this Format in audio

Its basically a cassette reel to reel, still very popular and sell for a lot now and I see that price is rising.

I had my first chance to see one , many common features it has with other machines but also some are unique, I think it has the Crazy capstan board that always goes wrong.

This is the mother PCB it has two part numbers but the second  number is probably just the actual pcb number rather than the assembly
