Akai PINCH ROLLER Wheel 20494 4000 Models D DB DS DS MkII GX 1721 1722

As everyone knows I am a Teac Tascam Nut, but a lot of friends still like their Old Akai

units and asked me when running some other stuff could I make some of the pinch rollers

for their little Akai's

So these are brand new made in small batches fresh rubber fitted, not new old stock, they

are NEW

BE CAREFUL!!!!

There are two types of rollers they use this is the bigger one just over 40mm in diameter

which is the one most people have asked me for

You can change the tires on the old units but its a bit trcky as original ones have a tooth like cog around

the outside to get a better grip on the rubber and this is tricky to get off.

Other people are making these but using a straight rim, thats ok as we do that with out Teac ones but I do

like the toothed gear ones better and maybe will change that later

They dont require any oiling as its a brass insert and spns freely though the shaft needs a good clean every so often

Just made a few to see how they go

I have a couple that have a slight nick in them from the press its ony cosmetic but they would be 5£ cheaper.
